List of CPC Location Tags Announcement

Good Morning Circle Pines,

Starting this morning, I'm going to add location tags to the photos in the twenty photo albums at MyCirclePines.

It may take a few days since there are over 1,200 photos to tag, but as I add tags you'll be able to search for photos by tag (e.g. clicking the tag "kitchen_porch" will bring up a list of all the photos taken of the kitchen porch).

Some might suggest putting up separate albums for each location, which could be added to the albums on the CPC FB Group site. However, doing it this way would lead to a proliferation of albums and, worse yet, a proliferation of duplicate photos. 

Yes, we already have some duplication of photos (e.g. there's a bill_knox_album and there are duplicate pictures of Bill in other albums). Nevertheless, IMO it's best if we try to at least limit unnecessary duplication. One reason for doing so is this: if you make a comment on one version of a photo of Bill, it will not show up on all the other duplicate versions of Bill.

So, we can think of the twenty albums we now have on MyCirclePines as "base albums." But, when one brings up a list of photos associated with a given tag (e.g. kitchen_porch), it's really just a virtual album consisting of one or more photos in the existing collection of "base albums."

So, without further ado, here's the list of location tags I'm planning to use (and the URL of the blog post I plan to maintain if people suggest changes or additions). Please feel free to suggest changes or additions.
